CLOSED North Africa | Short-term 2026
Harris Creek, come with us as we carry the gospel to the nations!
For one week, we will join hands with a faithful long-term missionary team in North Africa—a region of over 300 million people where countless men and women have yet to hear the good news of Jesus. As Scripture reminds us, “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all peoples” (Psalm 96:3). This is an invitation to step into God’s global story, bringing the hope of Christ to those who have never heard.
ABOUT THE TRIP
This trip is for anyone ready to step out in faith, share the gospel with boldness, and learn how to make disciples in a foreign cultural context. For one week, our team will join missionaries already rooted in the region, laboring among unreached people groups—people and areas with no churches to gather in, no Bibles to read, and no Christians to point them to Jesus. As Paul asked, “How are they to hear without someone preaching?” (Romans 10:14). We believe God is calling us to be part of the answer.
The week will be filled with hands-on ministry—prayer-walking through the city, engaging in gospel conversations, and supporting the work of local believers who are planting seeds of faith in spiritually dry soil. Our aim is to strengthen the church, proclaim Christ, and join God in His mission to the nations.
OUR THREE OBJECTIVES: PERCEIVE | PRAY | PARTICIPATE
Perceive – We will enter with humility and open eyes, taking time to learn the culture, customs, and dominant religion of the region. Like Paul, who became “all things to all people, that by all means [he] might save some” (1 Corinthians 9:22), we want to understand the people we are sent to so we can share Christ in ways they can grasp.
Pray – Prayer will be central to our work. As we walk city streets and village paths, we will intercede for God’s Spirit to move. “The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4). Prayer tears down barriers and invites God’s kingdom to break into dark places. Missionaries around the world remind us: “Prayer is the greater work.” We will pray in faith, trusting that salvation is God’s doing from start to finish.
Participate – We will actively step into conversations, seeking to know people, listen to their stories, and share with them the hope found in Christ. We may meet English speakers directly, or work with local believers and translators to bridge the gap. Along the way, we will also encourage and strengthen local churches, “stirring up one another to love and good works” (Hebrews 10:24).
ABOUT NORTH AFRICA
North Africa stretches across Morocco, Mauritania, Algeria, Tunisia, Mali, Niger, Chad, Libya, Egypt, and Sudan. From the golden sands of the Sahara to the Mediterranean’s bustling coasts, this region is full of beauty and history. Yet spiritually, it remains barren. Islam dominates daily life, shaping culture, politics, and family across the region leaving their people confused, hopeless, and worn out.
Of the 300 million people living in North Africa, only about 4.35 million are evangelical believers—just 1.45%. To put this in perspective: North Africa’s population is roughly equal to the entire United States, but the number of Christians could fit within the city of Miami. There are 430 unreached people groups scattered throughout the region, and most of them have no known believers or churches among them.
The need is immense. Our team will join God’s work by encouraging believers, supporting churches, and proclaiming the good news of Jesus among the unreached.
For security reasons, we do not list the specific country here. Please contact the trip leader for details.
