CLOSED North Africa 2025
Harris Creek, join us as we work alongside a long-term missionary team for a week in North Africa to take the gospel to the ends of the earth and be a part of reaching the unreached!
ABOUT THE TRIP
This trip is for anyone wanting to apply their faith, share the gospel, and learn how to make disciples in another culture. On this trip, our team will partner alongside a long term missionary team for one week to join them in evangelizing to unreached people groups. Unreached people groups are entire groups of people who have likely never heard about Jesus before. They have no churches to visit, no Bibles to purchase, and no believers to learn from. It is normal for someone of an unreached people group to live their entire life and never hear the good news of the gospel. We want to change that.
There are three main focusses on this trip: perceive, pray, and participate.
Perceive: The first objective of our team is to perceive the surrounding culture we will be entering into. We will take time to learn about the primary religion of the region, observe cultural tendencies and norms of the various people groups in the region, and be equipped on the strategy that the long-term missionary team deploys to reach the unreached for the region they are planted in.
Pray: The second objective of our team is to pray. We will do lot's of praying as we walk through the city and/or villages, referred to as "prayer-walking," praying for God's Kingdom to come and will be done throughout the region and for Jesus to rule and reign in the hearts of all the people. The phrase "prayer is the greater work" is often the mantra for missionary teams across the world working to reach the unreached, so we will join the prayers of the saints because salvation is the work of God alone.
Participate: The third objective of our team is to participate in the work of making disciples and planting churches. We will effort to get into conversations with locals to get to know them and their culture, and have the opportunity to share with them the hope of the world - the gospel! We will either find english-speakers in the area, or utilize indigenous believers that work with the missionary team who can translate conversations for us. We will also have the chance to meet with local believers and churches to encourage and equip them for the work of ministry.
ABOUT NORTH AFRICA
North Africa consists of the countries Morocco, Mauritania, Algeria, Tunisia, Mali, Niger, Chad, Libya, Egypt, and Sudan. From the expansive Sahara Desert to the vibrant Mediterranean coast, North Africa is a region of captivating contrasts and rich history featuring ancient civilizations, bustling markets, and vast stretches of arid land. Islam is the primary religion that dominates the majority of North Africa, which has massive implications on politics, family, and daily life among the north African people.
North Africa's population is just over 300 million people. Among these 300 million people there are only an estimated 4.35 million evangelical believers -- 1.45% of the entire population. North Africa is home to 430 unreached people groups (ethnolinguistic populations that are less than 2% Christian). To put all of this into perspective, North Africa alone is roughly the same population as the entire US, so that would mean all of the believers in all of North Africa could make up the entire population of Miami, Florida's (all statistics above from Radical).
There is great need for gospel-workers to come alongside indigenous believers and churches for the spread of the gospel across North Africa. Our team plans to do just that. Please note, we do not list the exact country we will be traveling to in order to protect the foreign and local gospel-workers we will be partnering alongside. If you would like to know the exact country we will be traveling to, please reach out to the trip leader.
