CLOSED East Asia 2025
Harris Creek, join us as we work alongside a long-term missionary team for a week in a mega-city in Southeast Asia home to millions and millions of people to take the gospel to the ends of the earth and be a part of evangelizing among the unreached!
ABOUT THE TRIP
This trip is for anyone wanting to apply their faith, share the gospel, and learn how to make disciples in another culture. On this trip, our team will partner alongside a long term missionary team for one week to join them in evangelizing to unreached people groups. Unreached people groups are entire groups of people who have likely never heard about Jesus before. They have no churches to visit, no Bibles to purchase, and no believers to learn from. It is normal for someone of an unreached people group to live their entire life and never hear the good news of the gospel. We want to change that.
Come be a part of the work God is doing among the greatest concentration of lostness in the world. This trip includes hands-on experience working alongside local ministry partners and utilizing Biblical missionary methods to engage the lost in hard to reach places. Join us as we strive to see the Great Commission fulfilled in Southeast Asia.
There are three main focusses on this trip: perceive, pray, and participate.
Perceive: The first objective of our team is to perceive the surrounding culture we will be entering into. We will take time to learn about the primary religion of the region, observe cultural tendencies and norms of the various people groups in the region, and be equipped on the strategy that the long-term missionary team deploys to reach the unreached for the region they are planted in.
Pray: The second objective of our team is to pray. We will do lot's of praying as we walk through the city and/or villages, referred to as "prayer-walking," praying for God's Kingdom to come and will be done throughout the region and for Jesus to rule and reign in the hearts of all the people. The phrase "prayer is the greater work" is often the mantra for missionary teams across the world working to reach the unreached, so we will join the prayers of the saints because salvation is the work of God alone.
Participate: The third objective of our team is to participate in the work of making disciples and planting churches. We will effort to get into conversations with locals to get to know them and their culture, and have the opportunity to share with them the hope of the world - the gospel! We will either find english-speakers in the area, or utilize indigenous believers that work with the missionary team who can translate conversations for us. We will also have the chance to meet with local believers and churches to encourage and equip them for the work of ministry.
ABOUT EAST ASIA
East Asia includes countries such as China, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Mongolia, and Taiwan. This region is known for its breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and vibrant cultures, from the always-busy streets of Tokyo to the stunning beauty of Mongolia's vast steppes. East Asia also faces significant spiritual challenges, with many people remaining unreached with the gospel.
Home to over 1.5 billion people, East Asia is a mosaic of beliefs, including Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and Shintoism, along with a growing number of Christians. Despite this diversity, evangelical Christians represent a small percentage of the population. East Asia houses the largest, by sheer population, unreached people group in the world, although there are an estimated over half a million believers of this people group. Millions upon millions of East Asians remain in areas with little or no access to the gospel, and there are several hundred unreached people groups throughout the region.
Each week, countless individuals in East Asia die without having heard about Jesus, highlighting the critical need for gospel workers to partner with local believers and churches in sharing the message of hope and salvation. Our team is committed to coming alongside indigenous churches and evangelists in their efforts to reach their communities with the gospel. For security and privacy reasons, we do not disclose the specific country of our mission; please contact the trip leader if you’d like to learn more.
